NC Arts in Education Week is September 11-17, 2022!
Now that our students are back to school, it is time to GET READY because September 11th through 17th is North Carolina Arts in Education Week! This is our opportunity as state to advocate and celebrate the vital role the arts play in our schools.
Now is the perfect time to start working on an Arts ARE Education Proclamation in your school district using our step-by-step toolkit. You can also write an Op-Ed about the value of arts education and send it your local paper (and if they to not print it; post it as a blog or on social media). You can find out more at ArtsNC.org or at ArtsEdNC.org which we host in collaboration with our NC Arts Education Leadership Coalition (AELC) partners.
This is also the perfect time to engage with an elected official, principal, or educator (or ANYONE) about Comprehensive Arts Education in your community. You can use the NC Arts Education Data Project or the Arts Education Navigator to help make your case.
Students starting sixth grade this year will be the first class to be covered by the NC Arts High School Graduation Requirement. Post your arts education celebrations and inspirations on social media using #BecauseOfArtsEd and #ArtsEdWeek so you can celebrate National Arts in Education Week with the entire nation!
